4 Ways to Use Natrèceutique's Soothing Intensive Serum for Instant Hydration, Glowy Skin and to Reduce Facial Puffiness
We are firm believers that everyone needs a serum as part of their every day skincare routine- that’s right absolutely everyone. It’s like a drink of water for the skin. However, besides hydration, how else can you use our cult classic Soothing Intensive Serum as part of your daily routine?
Read on for 4 beautiful ways to include it in your daily skincare routine for hydration, glow, and to aid in lymphatic draining and reduce facial swelling.
1. Simple, clean and effortless hydration
Our Soothing Intensive Serum from our Natrèceutique line has merit on its own as a simple and effective instant skin hydrator. It uses fermented corn sugar propanediol to draw water to the skin’s surface and has been shown to be even more effective than hyaluronic acid. You can use it both morning and night on clean, damp skin after cleansing. Use one pump and massage directly into skin, paying attention to your under eye area. The Date Seed extract that is included as its active ingredient, helps reduce skin redness as it targets the strength of our skin capillaries (small blood vessels) that can become weaker with age and environmental damage. Use it before your make up for a perfect canvas of just the right amount of luminosity with no greasiness or heaviness. This serum is oil-free and will not make your complexion products slide around.
2. Facial Massage
With certain health issues or as we get older, facial massage can be really beneficial for improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. Perimenopausal that experience fluctuations in their hormones, specifically progesterone, can suffer from water retention and swelling and adding facial massage to your nightly routine can help de-puff and also just be a welcome form of touch and self-care. The Soothing Intensive Serum is the perfect consistency for facilitating facial massage as it provides the right amount of glide and slipperiness for your hands. It will absorb completely but has enough playtime on the skin that you can gently take your hands and starting from the centre of your face, firmly and without tugging on the skin, massage skin outwards to your ears and then down to your lymph nodes in your neck and jaw. You can also use it on your neck for hydration, anti-oxidant support and to reduce tension.
Fun fact- our co-founder, Dr. Sharyn Laughlin, used to use our Soothing Intensive Serum in her dermatology practice after after session with cosmetic injectables (fillers). She said it gave her the perfect amount of glide on the skin to gently massage her patients faces, working in their injectable for a final smooth look.
3. As a skin conductor for your micro current device
If you happen to own a micro current facial toning device (popular brands are Nu-Face and Foreo) then you know that you need some form of conducting fluid that is compatible with your device. It has to be water based in order to conduct the micro current into the deeper layers of the skin and to make sure you don’t give yourself a little shock. Each brand does sell their own compatible product but the Soothing Intensive Serum also works beautifully. Apply a 1/4 pump in quadrants as you use your device on each area of your face including your forehead, upper cheeks, jawline and nasolabial fold.
4. As a zero-waste facial mask
If you love the deep hydration of a facial mask but not the waste that goes along with throwing out the mask component of it, we have the hack for you! You can actually apply an 1-2 additional pumps of the Soothing Intensive Serum to your skin. The goal is to saturate the skin so that the product absorbs slowly over the course of 10-20 minutes. Once fully absorbed, you can then layer in your additional skincare products like your moisturizer or correction product.
